A postdoctoral position is available to work on Intelligent Signal Processing for Environment-Sensitive Hearing Aid Devices, as part of a three-year project funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and Siemens Audiologische Tecknik GmbH to develop advanced signal processing strategies for next generation hearing aids that can adapt to the acoustical environment around the user.
The postdoctoral researcher will join the Signal Processing Oriented Technology (SPOT) group working with researchers from the University of Ottawa and Carleton University (http://www.site.uOttawa.ca/research/spot).
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics or related field obtained in the past three years, with evidence of research productivity. Experience in acoustics, signal processing and/or hearing aid technology is a definite asset. Good oral and written English skills are required.
This position is open to citizens of any nationality, but preference will be given to citizens and permanent residents of Canada. The starting date is winter 2007, or as soon as possible. Applications will be reviewed from January 31st, 2007 onwards. The position will remain opened until a suitable candidate is found.
