Design Engineer - Oakwell Engineering Limited
We started our journey as a distributor of engineering products in 1984. With the commitment to be your preferred business partner, we constantly refine the quality of our services throughout these years. Our services have since expanded to include stocking, engineering design and fabrication. We are looking for aspiring individuals to be part of our team for the following position:
DESIGN ENGINEER (PROCESS/INSTRUMENT)
(Based in Singapore)
Responsibilities
Identify, source and select suitable instruments and major equipment used for the specific system package equipment based on clients’ specifications and in compliance with industry standard. Assist in negotiation with vendors before procurement.
Read and check specification and drawings provided by client for bidding stage. And ensure our designers’ designs and drawings are in line with clients’ specifications and meet industry codes & standards requirement before submission to client for review / approval.
Prepare equipment data sheets (using ISA formats or others) and procedures (painting, testing etc) for clients’ review and approval.
Attend technical clarifications meetings with clients during bidding stage, and attend project kick-off meeting with client or its appointed 3rd party representative/inspector and after award of project.
Liaise with customers, vendors and subcontractors for process and instruments related matters to ensure that the technical requirements are met.
Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Chemical, Electrical or Instrument Engineering with at least 5 years of experience on instrumentation.
Basic understanding or familiar with marine/offshore oil & gas industries requirements, and code/standard requirements like API, ASME, ISA, etc…
Field experience in marine/offshore oil & gas industries would be an added advantage.
Proficient in MS Word and Excel is essential
Reasonably good in written and oral communication skills is essential
