[UK] MSc Research Studentship at the Department of Engineering Science, Oxford University
Closing date: 18th July 2006
Applications are invited for a research student to contribute to research on a multidisciplinary project concerned with modelling the deformation of engineering materials at elevated temperatures. The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide range of different modelling techniques. He/she will help develop novel experimental techniques to evaluate the predictions of models developed by researchers at Oxford, Cambridge and Kings College London.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest and aptitude for mechanics of materials and a good first degree in mechanical engineering, materials science or a related discipline. He/she will have good verbal and written communication skills and an ability to innovate, work independently and contribute to team activities.

The starting bursary will be £13,300 in Year 1, rising to £13,600 in Year 3.
