[Netherland] DELTA Scholarship for Master and PhD Degrees at The Hague University
Introduction
Interested in studying or doing an internship in the Netherlands? Or maybe you are already. A DELTA scholarship can help cover some of your costs. How do you qualify for a DELTA scholarship? The answers to this and the other most frequently asked questions for 2006-2007 are listed below.
What is Delta?
DELTA (Dutch Education: Learning at Top Level Abroad) is a scholarship programme run by Nuffic in collaboration with the Dutch institutions of higher education. The aim of DELTA is to attract top-quality students to the Netherlands. Nuffic provides the institutions with a grant which, under general conditions, they are then free to allocate to students in the form of a scholarship. Students can use a DELTA scholarship to cover some of their costs, such as accommodation, travel, tuition fees and daily living costs.

Do I qualify for a Delta Scholarship?
You can apply for a DELTA scholarship if:
- you are a national of Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam
- you are no older than 35 at the start of the academic year
- you have been admitted to the first year (propaedeutic year) of one of our programmes on the basis of prior education outside the Netherlands
- you meet the visa requirements for entering and residing in the Netherlands as a foreignstudent
- you will spend at least three months studying in the Netherlands
- you are doing research, an internship or studying at bachelors, masters or PhD level
- you have been admitted to a Dutch institution of higher education
How much is a DELTA scholarship?
Each institution receives a certain amount of money in the form of a grant. The institution is then free to decide how much each qualifying student will receive in the 2006-2007 academic year. The amount will at least cover tuition fees. You can find the exact amount of the grant in the flyers on this website.
When is the deadline for application?

I`ve been studying in the Netherlands for a few months now. Can I still apply for a DELTA scholarship?
This will depend on the institution where you are studying. Ask the International Office about the possibilities.
I am not receiving a scholarship, even though I do meet the requirements. How come?
Every institution decides for itself who should receive a DELTA scholarship and why. Read the scholarship flyer of your study programme carefully and if you still have questions, please ask the International Office at The Hague University for information on the conditions and procedure for the 2006-2007 academic year.
